When Bobby Garfield (David Morse--The Green Mile) returns to his hometown for the funeral of a boyhood friend, he recalls the magical summer of 1960... That summer a lodger (Academy Award winner Anthony Hopkins--Nixon, Shadowlands) moves into eleven-year-old Bobby's house. A special bond grows between the mysterious, kindhearted lodger and the fatherless boy. But the lodger comes with a haunted past ... and strange powers that puzzle and alarm the impressionable boy.
